The Great Outdoors is the site of the former Camp Naiad, the sister camp to Camp Wekeela, which is still in existence nearby. Established in the '50s, Camp Naiad hosted 1000s of youth from around the world for many summers until closing permanently in the late 1960s. The Seaman Family has offered quality cottage rentals, waterfront access and function facility rentals since 1982, and The Great Outdoors was voted the 2008 Turner Business of the Year by the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce.
Our classic Maine lodge can seat groups of up to 295 people, and our private, expansive grounds can accommodate outside groups of up to 2000!
